About this Holiday
Yang di-Pertuan Agong's Birthday is a federal public holiday celebrated on the first Monday of June each year, honouring the reigning Malaysian monarch who serves as the constitutional head of state and symbol of national unity. The birthday celebration includes royal parades, official ceremonies, and the conferment of royal honours across the country. Each Yang di-Pertuan Agong is elected for a five-year term by the Conference of Rulers from among the nine Malay hereditary rulers.
